This watch has a functional problem. I waited until the second hand was at 12 and then stopped the mechanism by pulling on the adjustment knob as indicated. I then set the date, hour and minute so everything would be indexed when the the mechanism was activated at the correct time. One of my personality flaws is that I like the hour, minute and second hands of my analog watches to be properly indexed. I then waited until the display on the WWV website indicated that the time was precisely as set, and I depressed the setting knob. When the knob was depressed the minute hand jumped about a half minute away from where it was staged. I tried this several times and each time the minute hand jumped when the setting knob was depressed. I wasn't shaking the watch and was very careful about how I applied pressure to the knob. I have several analog watches and I have no problems setting them. Maybe the unit I ended up with is a lemon, but if this is indicative of the quality of the mechanism used inside this watch and you like to have the hands indexed correctly then you may want to consider another product. Yes, it tells time, it looks nice (to me) and I really like the Coleman branding, but the setting artifact is very annoying. If I hadn't already thrown out the the packaging I would return this one for a replacement. If the replacement had the same problem I would return that one for a refund and go with a Timex.
I bought the same watch at target and grew pretty attached to it. It's good looking, doesn't have any bells or whistles, clearly marked, actually water-proof. After about a year, I dropped it on the tile and the glass face broke so I got on Amazon and bought it again. Now I know not to take the darn thing off.
